Fire crews called to blaze as New Cumnock flats evacuated
20 FebruaryFire crews were called to tackle a major blaze in Mason Avenue, New Cumnock which saw residents of the terraced block evacuated.
The fire happened on Saturday 18th February at around 9.30pm when firefighters from Cumnock were called to the fire in a terraced block of flats in Mason Avenue
Crews arrived to find that the roof space of the building was well alight and quickly began carrying out a thorough search to ensure that all people had been evacuated from the building, before extinguishing the blaze.
By around 11pm, Crews had extinguished the blaze and made use of an aerial appliance in order to strip away roof tiles to ventilate the roof. Firefighters then carried out a thorough check to make sure there had been no fire-spread to other areas.
